Yonkers Resident Honored as Emerging Leader at YWCA’s Salute Gala

Yonkers resident Donella Walker, a manager at Orange and Rockland Utilities (O&R), has been celebrated as the Emerging Leader Honoree at this year’s YWCA’s Salute Gala.

The YWCA singled out Walker for the prestigious honor to recognize her outstanding contributions to the energy and telecom industry and her exceptional leadership in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) within the energy company.

“Donella Walker brings a wealth of professional experience to her role at Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., with expertise spanning the energy and telecom sectors,” said Janette Espino, vice president of O&R’s Customer Operations.

“She’s worked for the company for 14 years and held positions in Gas Operations and Supply Chain. Her career has been marked by her ability to craft effective strategies that drive tangible results and pave the way for a more inclusive future.”

The YWCA of the City of New York “Salute Gala 2023” took place Oct. 11 at the City Winery Ballroom in Manhattan. The event recognizes and celebrates individuals, like Walker, who have made significant contributions to the community and exemplify the values of the YWCA. These honorees serve as inspirational figures, showcasing the positive impact that can be achieved through dedication, leadership, and a commitment to social responsibility, aligning with the YWCA’s mission to empower individuals and strengthen the community.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Walker enjoys a rich and diverse personal life. In her free time, she indulges in her passion for traveling, gardening, and sports, including tennis and golf. Her multifaceted interests mirror her ability to balance a successful career with a fulfilling personal life.
