Yonkers Brave QB Noah Oelkers Named Yonkers Rising Player of the Year

Congrats to Noah Oelkers Quarterback of the Yonkers Brave Football team for his winning his team’s Player of the Year award. Noah is a Senior at Saunders High School. He led the Brave at Quarterback and team Captain for the last two seasons.

Noah led his team in passing yardage 1,132 and 12 TD passes and rushed for 251 yards and 5 TDs. He also threw the longest TD pass in Brave history 89 yards.

Coach Vic Chiappa said of Noah: “ Noah was our starting Quarterback for the last two years. Last year he broke his elbow but played through it in the New Rochelle game. He was as tough as nails.I wish In had 22 like this kid. He comes from a great family and I will miss him.”

“Noah never gave up and never quit on me or his team-mates. He and the team fought hard every game and came back to work hard for practice each week.”

Noah was also named All Section One Quarterback in his conference. Noah will attend Monroe College in New Rochelle this Fall. His long range goal in life is to become a fire fighter but in the meantime he will major in business and play football at Monroe.
