Local Seniors Awarded $2K Scholarships by NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital Auxiliary

With graduation season upon us, NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital’s Auxiliary has awarded four local seniors with $2,000 scholarships to honor their academic accomplishments. These students are planning to pursue careers in the health space and were presented with their awards earlier this month. From left to right:

  1. Sophia Randazzo, Putnam Valley High School graduate who will be pursuing a nursing degree.  Sophia dedicates her time within her high school and community in various ways, including St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Putnam Valley Education Foundation, and Putnam Valley sports clubs.  She is part of her student government, national blood drive, and environmental club.
  2. Brandon Inga, Peekskill High School graduate who will be pursuing a nursing degree. Brandon is a former volunteer with NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital as well, helping make patients feel seen and heard.
  3. Jona Gashi, Lakeland High School senior graduate who will be pursuing pre-med and biomedical science.  Jona dedicates her time within her high school and community as she volunteers at the public library, she is part of her student government, and volunteers within the Albanian club.
  4. Patrick Burello, Walter Panas graduate who will be pursuing a nursing degree. Patrick is a former volunteer with NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, helping both the clinical team members, patients, and visitors.
  5. NOT PICTURED: Deisy Berganza, Peekskill High School graduate who will be pursuing a nursing degree. Deisy is a former volunteer with NewYork- Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, helping on the clinical floors.
