White Plains Mayor Tom Roach earned a unanimous endorsement from the White Plains Democratic City Committee last week in support of his campaign for Westchester County Clerk. The Scarsdale Democratic Town Committee has also endorsed Roach’s candidacy for clerk. The two committees are among the only Democratic Committees so far to hold formal votes on endorsements in the race prior to the February 18 Countywide Democratic Convention. The early support for Roach demonstrates strong momentum among party leaders in support of his candidacy.
“I am very grateful to the White Plains and Scarsdale Democratic committees for their support of my campaign. As Mayor of White Plains, I made City government more efficient, easier to access for the community and more financially secure. This is the exact formula I intend to bring to the Clerk’s office. As the next Westchester County Clerk, my priority will be to enhance the presence of the office through proactive outreach in the community. Whether it’s by increasing the use of mobile vans to bring County Clerk services to towns, villages and cities around the county; or cutting red tape to ensure services are delivered in a swift and professional manner; my primary focus will always be on improving customer service for residents,” said Mayor Roach.
