Obituary: Dennis Richmond Sr.

It is with deep sadness that the Yonkers Times announces the passing of Dennis Richmond, Sr., a beloved member of our community. On January 11th, 2024, he peacefully departed this life at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, New York. Dennis, born on September 30th, 1955, in New Rochelle, New York, was a loving father, a pillar of strength, and a source of inspiration to many.

Survived by his children, Denise Richmond, Charnise Richmond, and Dennis Richmond, Jr., Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love and enduring connections with family and friends. His impact extends beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of numerous individuals in the Yonkers community.

Residing in Yonkers from the 1980s until approximately 2022, Dennis became a familiar face through his work at Total Automotive Warehouse, where he delivered car parts. His dedication to his job mirrored his commitment to his family and community. In his retirement, Richmond loved to play at the Empire City Casino. He would have good days, sometimes bringing home prizes worth close to $3,000.

To celebrate Dennis Richmond, Sr.’s life, a private dinner will be held in Mount Vernon, New York, on Thursday, January 18th, 2024. Yonkers Times extends heartfelt condolences to Mr. Richmond’s family during this difficult time, acknowledging the profound loss felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

“He was my Superman,” said his son Dennis Richmond, Jr. I cried so much on Thursday and Friday that it almost became a normal part of my day.

Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests that you cherish the fond memories shared with Mr. Richmond. May he rest in peace, and may his memory forever live on in the hearts of those he touched with his warmth, kindness, and spirit.

We Love You Dad.
