The New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) has officially endorsed Anthony Nicodemo for Westchester County Legislature in the 15th Legislative District, citing his lifelong advocacy for public education, working families, and community service.
Nicodemo, a longtime educator and coach, has spent his career advocating for students, families, and educators both inside and outside the classroom. NYSUT praised Nicodemo’s firsthand understanding of the challenges facing public schools and his dedication to ensuring that educators have a strong voice in local government.
NYSUT President Melinda Person said the endorsement reflects the organization’s long-term commitment to supporting educators who step up to serve in public office.
“We started the NYSUT Pipeline ten years ago to empower NYSUT members to serve in every level of government in which decisions that impact public education are made,” Person said. “We are proud of the success of the program, and thrilled to be supporting NYSUT Pipeline candidate Anthony Nicodemo for County Legislative District 15.”
Nicodemo said he was honored to receive the endorsement and emphasized the deep connection he has with the organization and its mission.
“I am deeply appreciative of the support of leaders within the NYSUT community,” Nicodemo said. “NYSUT has been a steadfast source of support for me, both personally and professionally, and I look forward to carrying its values with me when elected.”
In addition to his work in education, Nicodemo has been a coach and mentor to countless young people, helping them build confidence, discipline, and leadership skills. He has pledged to bring that same commitment to service to the Westchester County Legislature.
