Lasdon Park to Hold First Annual Enchanted Garden Show

Bright colors and mystical creatures fill the Glass House Conservatory at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial – just in time for spring. Scheduled to open on Friday, March 26, the new enchanted garden show will be sure to delight guests of all ages.

County Executive George Latimer said: “We had great success with our ‘Autumn Changes’ and ‘Holidays on the Hills’ exhibits last year, and we’re excited to add a spring show to our line-up at Lasdon. This new exhibit will provide families with an exciting outing and horticulture enthusiasts with ideas for their own gardens.”

The inaugural exhibit “The Magic of Spring” features over 200 plant species including Cherry, Lime, Lemon and Grapefruit Trees, Norfolk Island Pines, ferns, pothos, philodendrons, daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, pansies and ranunculus.
With hand-made fairy houses made of recycled materials and sensory engaging displays, there is plenty for children to discover. While engaging their imaginations, fairies will also teach children what it means to be environmental stewards and why it’s important to take care of nature.

Commissioner of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said: “We thank our dedicated parks staff for their commitment to creating new experiences for our guests. We look forward to opening more activities that we feel we can operate safely.”

The magic continues outside of the Conservatory. All visitors will receive a brochure with their ticket, which maps out various collections within the park that visitors can explore.

The enchanted garden will open Friday, March 26 – April 4 and Thursday through Sunday through April 8 – 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets will be sold exclusively online with scheduled viewing times. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children (free for ages 2 and under) and $7.50 for seniors. All visitors are required to wear masks inside the Conservatory and adhere to social distancing protocols.
