The Hudson River Museum’s new wing will open this fall, museum director Masha Turchinsky said during the Business Council of Westchester’s State of the Economy webinar on April 20.
“The West Wing is going to be a dynamic, new wing in which we will be able to feature the special exhibitions,” said Turchinsky of the museum in Yonkers, N.Y. “It will be world-class galleries right along the Hudson River, and we’re talking about beautiful, 15-foot ceilings. We’re talking about galleries that you would expect to find in a major institution in New York City.”
Designed by Archimuse, the West Wing project expands the museum from approximately 40,000 to 52,000 square feet while seamlessly integrating the enhancements with the existing museum campus, including its center courtyard and the view of the Hudson River and Palisades.
Turchinsky discussed the new West Wing during the BCW’s State of the Economy webinar with the leaders of five prominent cultural institutions. “The arts and culture sector was frankly the hardest hit during the pandemic is coming back strong and evolving and being innovative and transformative in Westchester County,” said BCW President and CEO Marsha Gordon, who moderated the panel.
