Green Business Partnership Gets Grant from Community Foundation

L-R – Ken Jenkins, deputy Westchester County executive; Marsha Gordon, president and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester; Laura Rossi, executive director of the Westchester Community Foundation; Scott Fernqvist, co-founder of the Green Business Partnership; and Dani Glaser, founder of the Green Business Partnership

The Green Business Partnership, a membership organization that helps New York businesses become sustainable and achieve green certification, has received a grant of $20,000 from the Westchester Community Foundation. The funds will be used to expand membership in the GBP, to provide technical assistance and coaching to member organizations so they may achieve green certification, and to train and place college students as sustainability interns.

“We’re proud and excited to have the Westchester Community Foundation as a partner for the fifth year in a row,” said Dani Glaser, program director of the Green Business Partnership. “Their support is integral to our efforts to grow our membership and increase the collective impact we have as more businesses become sustainable and inspire their competitors and vendors to do the same.”

Using a comprehensive, customized digital toolkit and a propriety emissions tool, membership in the Green Business Partnership is available to any organization that leases or owns commercial or industrial space in New York. More than 130 businesses and nonprofits are members, and 35 have achieved certification since the GBP launched its official accreditation in 2014.

The Westchester Community Foundation values partnerships that work,” said Laura Rossi, Esq., executive director of the Westchester Community Foundation. “The GBP exemplifies these values by bringing together the best leaders in Westchester’s business community to advance sustainable solutions that will make our community more resilient. We’re so pleased to continue to invest in the growth of this important program.”  Learn more at www.greenbusinesspartnership.org
