This past Tuesday, the Yonkers City Council held its final Council Meeting before the summer recess, marking the occasion with a special change of venue. In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the meeting was moved from City Hall to the historic Philipse Manor, offering a meaningful backdrop for the milestone year.
The meeting opened with two Yonkers students joining the Council to lead the Pledge of Allegiance, setting a respectful and uplifting tone for the evening.
Adding a touch of fun to the festivities, Councilman Breen embraced the spirit of the celebration by arriving in a powdered wig! The gathering successfully blended civic business with a sense of history and community pride, creating a memorable close to the Council’s pre‑recess schedule.
