Cars Ticketed by Yonkers & State Police For Speeding 100MPH!

The Yonkers Police Department’s commitment to reducing instances of speeding, reckless driving, and vehicle / motorcycle noise pollution continued this past weekend with a targeted enforcement detail working together with the New York State Police in the areas of Central Park Avenue, the Sprain Brook Parkway, and the New York State Thruway. 128 summonses were issued for various offenses including speeding and modified exhaust systems, and three vehicles were impounded. Two separate violators were cited for speed in excess of 100 MPH.

These enforcement details are a direct result of community feedback and law enforcement’s mission to ensure the safety of our roads and preserve the quality-of-life for our residents and will be continuing. Community members are encouraged to contact the Yonkers Police Department at (914) 377-7900 to report in-progress traffic violations; emergencies dial 9-1-1. Community members may also forward information to police@ypd.yonkersny.gov.
