Care Coalition Community Service Scholarship In Memory of Eastchester Councilman Bellitto

former Eastchester Councilman Glen Bellitto

The Care Coalition, with the generous support of the Bellitto family, is delighted to announce the launch of our “Crimson Courage” Community Service Scholarship.

Glenn D. Bellitto, Eastchester Town Councilman who passed away at the very beginning of the COVID pandemic in April 2020, will always be remembered for dedicating his life to the service of others. He dedicated his time to a wide range of causes, including the homeless, senior citizens, veterans, the environment and many more.

Glenn experienced the most tragic of losses when his 19 year-old son, Gage, died from an opioid overdose in 2017. He was then determined to help others by openly and bravely sharing his story in the hope that it would remove the stigma of addiction and encourage those affected to never give up. And in so doing, he found a way to channel his grief into a mission of service.

The “Crimson Courage” Service Scholarship is a celebration of the next generation of compassionate, service-minded individuals. This scholarship, valued at $5,000, aims to support individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to making a positive impact in their communities.

The Care Coalition and the Bellitto family believe in the power of education and community service to create lasting change. We invite any eligible student or recent graduate applying to trade school or college/university to apply for this scholarship, GPA will not be considered.

For additional application details and criteria, please visit our website lovenevergivesup.com. The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2024.
