Paws on Parade and Spirits on Tap for Halloween in Downtown Yonkers Oct. 24

Halloween Pet Parade and Fashion Contest on October 24, and the Halloween Bar Crawl on October 27, offering family fun by day and festive stops by night.

The Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District is excited to announce two Halloween events returning for 2026. The Halloween Pet Parade and Fashion Contest will take place on Saturday, October 24, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Yonkers Waterfront Amphitheater, 71 Water Grant Street. The Yonkers Downtown Halloween Bar Crawl follows on Tuesday, October 27, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, bringing festive evening fun to participating downtown restaurants.

“The enthusiasm around our Halloween events continues to grow each year,” said Sara Brody, Executive Director of the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront BID. “We’re already seeing a strong wave of early interest in the pet parade, and we expect the bar crawl to draw another great crowd. These celebrations bring out the creativity and community spirit that make our downtown so special, and we look forward to a fun and festive Halloween.”

The Halloween Pet Parade and Fashion Contest invites pet owners to bring their furry or not‑so‑furry companions for an afternoon of costumes, music, and family‑friendly activities. Pets will compete in three categories: Most Creative, Scariest, and Cutest. The winner in each category will receive a $100 gift card sponsored by Extell Development.

This year’s judging panel includes Nala Bachkhaz from AMS, Carlos Santiago

from Animal Specialty Center, Tony Santerelli from Teriyaki Madness, and Lauren Hopkins of TD Bank.

All registered pets will receive a free pet goodie bag donated by Animal Specialty Center, a participation certificate, access to the family 360‑degree video booth, and a pet bandana provided by TD Bank. DJ music will add to the festive atmosphere throughout the event.

Celebrations continue Tuesday, October 27, with the Downtown Yonkers Halloween Bar Crawl, bringing together local bars, nightlife, drinks, music, costumes, and a great crowd for one of the area’s annual Halloween parties. Costumed participants can enjoy Halloween-themed drinks, specials, music, costumes, and more. Locations include Francey Brady’s, Guapo Restaurant, La Bella Havana, Yonkers Brewing Co., Dos Marias, and La Cantina. Planned drink specials include $12 cocktails, $10 sangria, $8 wine, and $5 beer.

Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of nearby transportation options. Downtown Yonkers is accessible via Metro‑North’s Yonkers Station, several Bee‑Line Bus routes, and local cab services including Yonkers Taxi on New Main Street. Additional car services include Mexico Car Service at 206 S. Broadway (914‑968‑6666) and Mexicana Car Service at 226 New Main Street (914‑476‑0800).
