Students in the Charter School of Educational Excellence’s training kitchen
The aromas of garlic, lemon, and fresh pastry will waft through the halls of the Charter School of Educational Excellence (CSEE) on April 10, when the school’s talented culinary students transform their campus into a premier dining destination.
Starting at 6:00 p.m., the CSEE’s Restaurant Night offers the community a chance to experience a dining experience curated and executed entirely by the next generation of chefs.
The student-led kitchen has designed a traditional menu that highlights both technical precision and classic flavors. Guests will enjoy a full three-course meal:
- Appetizer: A fresh, crisp house salad to cleanse the palette.
- Main Entrée: Chicken Francese and Pasta Primavera, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes with gravy and a medley of mixed vegetables.
- Dessert: Fresh-baked strawberry cheesecake to round out the evening.
The event serves as a live showcase of the rigorous vocational training provided at CSEE. Under the mentorship of professional chefs, students have spent the semester mastering knife skills, flavor profiles, and the high-pressure pacing of a commercial kitchen.
“Our culinary students are incredibly eager to demonstrate the skills they’ve learned from the professional chefs who lead their classes,” said Principal Dwain Palmer. “This night is a culmination of their hard work, discipline, and passion for the culinary arts. It’s a proud moment for the school to see them step out of the classroom and into their roles as professional hosts and chefs.”
The community can support these aspiring professionals by purchasing tickets online. Tickets are priced affordably to ensure a family-friendly atmosphere:
- Adults: $25
- Children: $15
Proceeds from the event support the school’s vocational programs, ensuring that students continue to have access to industry-standard equipment and ingredients.
