Following the Yonkers Democratic Party convention held last night, Wilson Terrero today announced that he has officially received the party’s endorsement in his campaign for Westchester County Legislator representing the 17th District.

“I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the endorsement of the Yonkers Democratic Party,” Terrero said. “I want to sincerely thank the district leaders for their confidence, support, and trust. Their backing means a great deal to me, and I am proud to stand with them as we work together to deliver results for Yonkers residents.”

Terrero also expressed appreciation to party and government leaders who supported his candidacy, including Tom Meier, Ken Jenkins, and Mike Spano.

“I thank Chairman Tom Meier for his leadership and support, County Executive Ken Jenkins for his encouragement, and Mayor Mike Spano for his continued commitment to the people of Yonkers,” Terrero said. “I am grateful for their confidence as I take this next step in public service.”

Terrero previously served as Majority Leader of the Yonkers City Council, where he built a strong record of leadership, fiscal responsibility, and advocacy for working families. With more than 25 years of community involvement, he has championed free programs for children and seniors, provided scholarships for high school students, and served as a board member of the Park Hill Residents Association, advocating for improved quality of life for our neighborhoods.

As County Legislator, Terrero said his priorities will include addressing the affordability crisis facing Yonkers families and tackling quality of life issues that affect everyday life, including public safety, infrastructure, and neighborhood stability.

“I am ready to serve on day one,” Terrero said. “This endorsement strengthens my commitment to fight for affordability, protect our neighborhoods, and ensure Yonkers has a strong voice at the county level.”
