The City of Yonkers celebrated the 67th anniversary of Ghana’s independence, with a flag raising ceremony at City Hall on March 7. In attendace was Dr. Fred Ansong Dwamena, Executive Director of the National Council of Ghanaian Associations, His Excellency Harold Agyeman, Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and the Honorable Daniel Kingsley Atta Boafo, Ghana Consul General in New York.
Sandy Amoyaw, Yonkers Riverfront Library Administrator, was also recognized as a leader in the Ghanaian American community
