- Yonkers resident Oksana Kulynych is organizing a community donation drive to send urgently needed medical equipment, medical supplies, and winter clothing to people in Ukraine affected by the ongoing war.
- With assistance from St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and other Ukrainian organizations, the initiative titled “Urgently Needed Donations to Ukraine,” is bringing together community members to help people facing difficult and dangerous conditions.
- The United Ukrainian Relief Committee, a Philadelphia based organization founded in 1944 to assist refugees following World War II, will collect the donated items in Yonkers on Monday, October 26, 2026. The supplies will be shipped in a container to Lviv, in western Ukraine, for distribution to areas where assistance is urgently needed.
- Donations include a Hoyer lift, wheelchairs, walkers, other medical equipment and supplies, and essential winter clothing such as jackets, hats, socks and gloves.
- As winter approaches, these donations can help provide essential support to people in need, including those who require medical assistance and protection from the cold.
The organizers welcome donations from individuals, families, and the wider Yonkers community.
