Motria Watters of UUARC, Mr. Ivan, Oksana Kulynych, organizer of Donation drive
Yonkers resident Oksana Kulynych organized a community donation drive to send urgently needed medical equipment, medical supplies, and winter clothing to people in Ukraine affected by the ongoing war.
With assistance from St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and other organizations, the initiative titled “Urgently Needed Donations to Ukraine” brought together community members to help people facing difficult and dangerous conditions.
The United Ukrainian American Relief Committee (UUARC), a Philadelphia based organization founded in 1944 to assist refugees following World War II, collected the filled to capacity cargo van in Yonkers on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The supplies will be shipped this Saturday in a container to Poland, then by tractor trailer to Lviv in western Ukraine for distribution to areas where assistance is urgently needed.
Donations included monetary donations, a Hoyer lift, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, other medical equipment and supplies, and essential winter clothing such as coats, jackets, hats, socks, gloves.
As winter approaches, these donations can help provide essential support to people in need, including those who require medical assistance and protection from the cold.
The organizers of the donation drive are extremely grateful to the many individuals for their generous donations to this important cause.
