Yonkers Arts and Simple Motive Brewery to bring the Inaugural Movie Night to the Carpet Mills Arts District

Yonkers Arts and Simple Motive Brewery are partnering to bring the inaugural ‘Movie Night at CMAD” to the Carpet Mills Arts District (or CMAD) this Friday, August 25th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Weather permitting.

The free event will feature a screening of the classic film “The Goonies” on a large mobile outdoor screen in the interior parking lot and will include a chance to purchase food from the Monkey Brothers Lab food truck. Free popcorn will be available, along with the opportunity to buy beer and experience the new Simple Motive Brewery taproom. Just bring your chair and love for nostalgia.

‘Movie Night at CMAD’ is part of Yonkers Arts and partners’ ongoing efforts to activate the Carpet Mills Arts District with engaging events and programs that will attract the community to the historic district that houses YOHO Studios.

“The Carpet Mills Arts District is a growing community and it’s important to provide opportunities for people of all ages to connect with the arts. Engaging community programs and events like Movie Night and the upcoming ‘Yonktoberfest’ open-air festival, can and will help to build a sense of place, foster creativity, and promote economic development,” says Ray Wilcox; Executive Director of Yonkers Arts.

Once the world’s largest carpet factory, the Carpet Mills Arts District is a former industrial site that is actively being transformed into a thriving center for the arts and culture. It is home to over 100 artists, artisans, and businesses.

If Friday’s weather doesn’t permit an outdoor screening, we invite you to join us at Simple Motive Brewing for an indoor screening. Keep an eye on our social media for updates throughout the day!
