The Untermyer Performing Arts Council’s Happy Birthday USA Opens Our 51st Year!

Opens Our 51st Season!

World Fest 2026 4:30 pm Saturday, July 54h

Celebrating Yonkers and our great country, the Untermyer Performing Arts Council is delighted to open our 51st season with Happy Birthday, USA!

Featuring Westchester’s popular Dixieland Express, seasoned musicians who, according to Westchester Magazine, “…think music is like fine wine and only gets better with age!”  Band founder Norman Weiss credits the members’ passion for music with keeping them young.

They will perform a mixture of patriotic songs and Americana, ranging from the “Star Spangled Banner” to “When the Saints Come Marching In,” songs we know and love.  This celebration honors the 250th anniversary when delegates from all thirteen colonies adopted the final draft of the Declaration of Independence the Second Continental Congress adopted two days earlier!  This document asserted the colonies’ right to self-governance in no uncertain terms.

The season will feature audience favorites such as Peace of Heart Choir, The Library Jazz Band, Connecticut Ballet, The Guss Hayes Band and Back to the Garden 1969!

At UPAC, we take pride in executing our mission of community service through developing and promoting an appreciation of the performing arts, providing a summer series of varied, quality artistic performances, and year-round special events for adults and children at beautiful Untermyer Park.

This definitely will be another “don’t miss” Untermyer Performing Arts Council World Fest 2025 evening under the stars!

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to continuing the tradition of Minnie and Samuel Untermyer, bringing free entertainment to our treasure of a park and the people of Yonkers.

Our events are admission free and open to the public.  Audience members must bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets; we cannot provide seating.

This program, done in cooperation with Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, is made possible by ArtsWestchester with support from Westchester County Government and the City of Yonkers.  Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins, Assemblymember Nader Sayegh, Empire City Casino, and our many generous supporters provide additional funding for our programs.
