Letter to the Editor:
Anyone who has tried to walk along Route 128 in Armonk knows the feeling: cars moving fast, no real sidewalk, and you are hugging the shoulder, hoping drivers are paying attention. It has been that way for my whole life.
That is why I was glad to see Congressman Mike Lawler bring home $1.3 million for new sidewalks along Main Street and Route 128. A safe place to walk connects our downtown to the neighborhoods around it and lets people run an errand or walk safely without taking a risk.
Small-town quality of life is built out of exactly these things. It does not take a grand speech; it takes someone willing to fund the sidewalk. Thank you to Rep. Lawler for getting it done for North Castle.
