Currently celebrating its 26th Season and past recipient of the ArtsWestchester Organization of the Year Award, Taconic Opera invites you to enjoy two piano concertos in one concert: Maurice Ravel’s famous Piano Concerto in G Major, written after the composer had been exposed to jazz on a US visit, and the world premiere of Dan Montez’s Piano Concerto in C Minor.
Both pieces will be performed by rising star, Kessa Mefford, who recently made her debut at Carnegie Hall. Ms. Mefford, an award-winning pianist who specializes in the works of Ravel, will perform the concertos on a concert grand, along with the full Taconic Opera Orchestra conducted by the company’s Musical Director, Jun Nakabayashi.
