Alexa Robinson, Hendrick Hudson HS, Named A Con Edison Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Lexi Robinson

By Dan Murphy

Congratulations to Lexi Robinson, a Senior at Hendrick Hudson High School, for being named a Con Edison scholar-athlete of the week. Robinson is the leader of the HHS Girls Lacrosse team, and is a tremendous three sport athlete, on the Varsity Girls Soccer team, Basketball team and Lacrosse team. She recently led the Girls Basketball team to the Section One Championship game.

As the team captain of the Lacrosse Team, where she has played for four years, Lexi has been named All League twice.

Coach Rob Porter called Lexi, “the ultimate team player. Her presence is not necessarily felt with points. She is, by far, the team’s best defender. This past week, Lexi received the honor as the NYS Athletic Administrators Female Scholar Athlete of the year.

“In Hen Hud’s opening Girls Lacrosse win over perennial power, Tappan Zee, Lexi just did what she always does. She doesn’t have the flashy stats. She welcomes being the best defender on the field, and she welcomes the leadership that she provides. In the opening 13-2 win, it was Lexi’s defense that led to the dominant effort. She controlled the entire defense for the entire game.”

Lexi is an honor roll student, with a 98% GPA. She has completed several Advanced Placement courses, and is a student with an exuberant amount of extra-curricular and volunteer activities, including:
Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Puppy Socializer and Trainer, Town of Cortlandt Youth Boys Basketball Coach, Church of the Holy Spirit Food Pantry/Peekskill Soup Kitchen/Feeding Westchester, Volunteer of Rescued Paws, Animal Adoption.

She is A Member of National Honor Society, the Member of Mathematics Honor Society, and the National Mathematics Honor Society.

Lexi was awarded the Samuel H. Topper Chemistry Scholarship, given to the top chemistry student in Northern Westchester.

HHHS Athletic Director Thomas Baker said, “Lexi can be counted on, at all times, to go above and beyond the call of duty. Her involvement in the district is second to none. Hendrick Hudson High School has been lucky to have Lexi Robinson walk its halls.

“Lexi has epitomized the term “student-athlete.” In our team’s run to the Section One Championship game, Lexi was the one making big play after big play in the biggest moments of the game. Very simply, she wanted the ball in that moment and knew she would be successful. Already, in our girls’ lacrosse season, the same characteristics are being seen. She wants the ball in the biggest situations!
