Prayers and an Act of Kindness from a Young Student to Our Police

Mariam, a St Barnabas CCD student, was so appreciative of the YPD, she sent a thank you card to Commissioner Sapienza last month.

What the Commissioner didn’t expect was that Mariam also put a $10 bill in the card as a gift!

We couldn’t accept such a gift, so Commissioner Sapienza stopped by Mariam’s house this week to give her back her $10, and give her some cool YPD swag.

Thank you, Mariam, for being so sweet and thoughtful and for always supporting the YPD!

Miriam’s letter reads, ” Dear Police Officer, thank you for your service. I will pray to God to watch over you and the other officers and protect you from danger, and most importantly bring you home safely to those that love you.”

What a wonderful drawing to go with your kind words Miriam. Perhaps you can work for our paper and website in the future. We would love to feature your Art and your kind thoughts.

What you did should make us all think about being kind to others, and to pray for our police officers and those who are in harms way.

God Bless You Miriam, and thank you -This is what July 4th is all about!
