Mid-Westchester Elks Lodge Gives Dictionaries to Students

Westchester Elks Lodge 535 Exalted Ruler Robert Lent and Leading Knight Jay Singer with Principal Michael Cunzio and students at Columbus Elementary School.

Mid-Westchester Elks Lodge 535 participated The Dictionary Project by providing dictionaries to the third-grade class at Columbus Elementary School in Thornwood. Exalted Ruler Robert Lent and Leading Knight Jay Singer, with Principal Michael Cunzio, held an assembly in which the third-grade class received its own personal dictionary.

Mid-Westchester Elks Lodge 535 was organized in 2009 and meets at North Castle American Legion Post 1097 in Armonk.

The mission of the Elks is: To inculcate the principles of charity, justice, brotherly love and fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization; and to provide for its government, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America will serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks care and Elks share.
