BOL Majority Whip Shanae Williams’ Break the Silence for Domestic Violence 5k Raises $5k

Hundreds of supporters, including Board Chair Vedat Gashi and Vice Chair Terry Clements, State Senator Shelley Mayer, Rep. George Latimer, and members of the Yonkers PD’s Special Victims Unit, hit the ground running Saturday at Tibbetts Brook Park for the 3rd annual Break the Silence for Domestic Violence 5K Run/Walk, hosted by Majority Whip Shanae Williams.

The event, which grows in size every year, raised more than $5,000 to benefit Yonkers Community Action Program’s victim support services.

The Board stands with Westchester community partners to show victims and survivors that they are not alone–during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and year round.
