Saritha-45%

AG James-51%

4% undecided

A new poll conducted days after a debate for NY Attorney General between democrat Letitia James and republican Saritha Komatireddy show Saritha closing the gap, with James at 51% and Saritha at 45%, with 4% undecided. The New York Post first reported the poll on Oct. 18.

Many New Yorkers who watched the debate, including this reporter, found Saritha impressive and prepared. Another tidbit in the poll from the Post story, was that for those who watched the debate, Saritha got 81% to just 19% for James, the incumbent NYAG.

OnMessage Inc conducted the poll of 1,000 likely voters with a margin of error of 2.8%.

James is still leading in the betting markets, with Kalshi predicting that James will win with 91% certainty.

“Thursday night’s debate made the differences between Letitia James and me crystal clear,” said Komatireddy. “New Yorkers deserve more than one opportunity to hear us defend our records, explain our positions, and answer tough questions about the future of this state. I am ready to debate Letitia James again, anywhere in New York, anytime before Election Day. The question is whether she is willing to do the same.”

Komatireddy called on James to agree to additional televised debates, including opportunities to address voters outside New York City.

“Letitia James has had nearly eight years to make her case to New Yorkers. She should have no problem spending another hour defending her record,” Komatireddy continued. “I welcome the tough questions. And I welcome every opportunity to explain exactly what I will do differently as Attorney General. Let’s have more debates and let New Yorkers hear from both of us.”
