Clean, reliable tap water is one of those things you only think about when it stops. In Pleasantville, the water district has leaned on a storage tank well past its prime, and anyone who has lived through a water main scare knows how quickly that becomes everyone’s problem.
Congressman Mike Lawler secured $2.25 million to replace the village’s water storage tank. That means steadier water pressure, better capacity when there is a fire to fight, and a lot less worry about the day the old tank finally gives out.
My family and I appreciate and are grateful for this important preventive work . It is easier, and far more common, for elected officials to wait for something to break and then show up for the photo. Rep. Lawler put money toward fixing it first.
As someone who just wants clean water to come out of the faucet, we are thankful he did.
