On Sept. 19, the Yonkers Guardians varsity football team traveled to White Plains to take on White Plains High School in a game where the Guardians took a 13-0 lead into halftime and never looked back, winning 28-14, with a strong game from the Guardians defense.
Leading the way on offense once again was Quarterback Brendan Mulvihill who passed for 258 yards, 12-18 with four touchdown passes. He also ran for 50 yards, giving him 300 total yards for the game.
Guardians wide receiver Omar Areche had a breakout game -with 2 TDs on 4 receptions-for 116 yards.
MaxPreps.com also higlighted Guardians Bryce Chin on defense and Jake Mcgahran on special teams. A good win for the team and for Coach Doug Hogue.
Next up for the Guardians, now 2-1, is a tough game against New Rochelle, who is coming off of a win over Mt. Vernon. That game is on Sat. Sept. 26 at 1:30pm at New Rochelle High School.
