Frank Jereis Sworn In as New York Attorney at 25, Adding Another Milestone to a Rapidly Rising Career

Frank Jereis

Frank Jereis, the 25-year-old Democratic nominee for New York State Assembly in Yonkers’ 90th District and Executive Director of the Yonkers Democratic Party, has reached another major milestone in a remarkably young career: he has been sworn in as an attorney in the State of New York.

Frank Jereis graduated from New York Law School in 2025 with a full merit scholarship after graduating a year early from Hunter College for his undergraduate degree in Biology.

The accomplishment comes at a pivotal moment for the lifelong Yonkers resident. At just 25, Jereis has already built a high public and political profile having spent years deeply involved in government, Democratic Party organization, judicial races and political campaign  throughout Westchester County.

Now, with his swearing-in as an Attorney to the New York bar, Jereis adds a legal credential to an already deep resume.

His political career began at an unusually young age. In 2020, at 19, Jereis became the youngest ward leader in Yonkers history, taking on a frontline role in local Democratic politics.

Since then, Jereis was appointed Executive Director of the Yonkers Democratic Party. He has had stints in government roles including at Yonkers’ Human Rights Commission and as a Chief of Staff in the State Assembly. When Assemblyman Sayegh announced that he would not seek reelection, Jereis launched his campaign to succeed his boss for the 90th Assembly District. Frank Jereis handily won the Democratic Primary for Yonkers’ Influential State Assembly seat this past June.

If elected, Jereis would be the youngest member of the State Assembly. His campaign has highlighted his experience working in government and his understanding of Yonkers, while his background has given him experience on both the political and legislative sides of public service.

The General Election is scheduled for November 3, 2026.
