Two arrested in connection with juvenile altercation in Somers

On August 20, 2026, at approximately 1:34 a.m., New York State Police in Somers were dispatched to Westchester Medical Center for a report of an assault that had occurred earlier involving a 14-year-old male victim. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of a physical altercation.

An investigation by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Somers determined that the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between a 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, both of Mahopac.

On August 18, 2026, a verbal altercation occurred between the two juveniles while they were at Somers Commons, located at 80 Route 6 in the town of Somers.

On August 19, 2026, the juveniles were again at Somers Commons, where the dispute escalated into a physical altercation.

Following the altercation, Evad Vucetovic, 39, of Mahopac, New York, and Alban Gjevukaj, 37, of Carmel, New York, were contacted and subsequently arrived at the location. The investigation determined that Vucetovic instructed the two juveniles to engage in an additional physical altercation to resolve their ongoing dispute. During the incident, Gjevukaj pulled a sweatshirt over one juvenile’s head.

On August 21, 2026, Vucetovic was arrested and charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a child, class A misdemeanors. He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court and released on his own recognizance. 

On August 21, Gjevukaj was arrested and charged with Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation. He was arraigned in Somers Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
