City of Yonkers Employee Helps Unresponsive Man on the Street

Ed Dukum

Proud of Department of Housing and Buildings employee Ed Dukum for his heroic actions this week.

After finding an unresponsive man at the corner of Ashburton Avenue and Park Avenue, Ed immediately began CPR, administered Narcan and stayed with him until first responders arrived, helping save a life.

Ed’s quick thinking, selflessness and courage made a difference when every second counted. It’s no surprise to those who know him. Ed was also recognized as the City’s Employee of the Month in October 2019 for his dedication and commitment to public service.

Yonkers is fortunate to have dedicated public servants like Ed serving the City every day.
