Wilson Terrero’s campaign for County Legislator has been significantly boosted by two of New York’s leading conservation organizations. The NY League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club both agree that Wilson Terrero is the most effective choice to protect the environment in the Democratic Primary for County Legislator in Yonkers’ 17th District.
In their mission statements both the Sierra Club and the League of Conservation Voters pledge to practice and promote responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and to protect public health through political action. Wilson Terrero is committed to joining them in those efforts.
“I am honored to be endorsed by these organizations as they represent the most energetic voice for New Yorkers to protect our environment. In a race like mine, I understand that the environment may be overlooked by some. However I won’t let that happen. Safe drinking water and clean air are essential to our health and to the earth. Here in Southwest Yonkers, I am especially mindful of what I hope will be my responsibility to oversee the county’s sewage treatment plant. We must continue to mitigate the odors and be sure that the discharge into the Hudson is the safest possible. I am proud to join these two most important organizations in the struggle to protect our environment” said Terrero in accepting their endorsements.
The Democratic Primary will be held on June 23rd. Early voting begins on June 13 and ends on June 21st .
