
On May 29, 2026, members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) arrested Lorenzo L. Moore, 45, and Markeim T. Lewis, 26, both of Brooklyn, New York, following a narcotics investigation that began in November 2024.
As the investigation progressed, State Police developed information that Moore and Lewis frequently utilized rail transportation in furtherance of criminal activity.
On May 29, 2026, CSU members located both individuals after they exited a train and took them into custody without incident.
As a result of the arrest, members recovered approximately 279 grams of crack cocaine, 54 grams of fentanyl, a Taurus .40 caliber handgun, and $3,450 in cash.
Lorenzo L. Moore was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree (A-II Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree – Intent to Sell (B Felony)
Markeim T. Lewis was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree (A-II Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree – Intent to Sell (B Felony) – 2 counts
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree (B Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 2nd Degree (C Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm (E Felony)
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, 2nd Degree (A Misdemeanor) – 2 counts
Moore and Lewis were arraigned in the City of Rensselaer Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.
This investigation was successful due to the collaborative efforts of Troop K CSU, Troop G Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), SP Schodack, SP Latham, SP Brunswick, the Amtrak Police Department, and the City of Rensselaer Police Department.
