Elected officials who took the oath of office included:
City Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy. “As we step into the New Year, I’m truly honored to begin a new term serving as Yonkers City Council President. Congratulations to Majority Leader John Rubbo and Councilmember Corazon Pineda-Isaac as they continue their service, and a warm welcome to Tim Hodges, representing the 6th District. I also congratulate Alexandra Bisesi on her appointment as City Court Judge and wish her much success. Here’s to a year of teamwork, progress, and continued commitment to the people we serve,” said Collins-Bellamy, who is now serving her second, four-year term as Council President.
City Councilman and Majority Leader John Rubbo. Real progress. Real results. I’m proud of the legislative wins we achieved in Yonkers in 2025 and the momentum we’re building for a stronger future. But our work isn’t done and I’m counting on your continued support and engagement in 2026. Wishing you a happy New Year, and I look forward to continuing to represent this incredible city we all call home.
City Councilman Tim Hodges. Happy New Year! As we welcome in 2026, I wish everyone a successful and happy year ahead. Today I will be sworn-in as Councilman for Yonkers’ 6th Council District. A true honor of a lifetime. Please feel free to watch the ceremony on the City of Yonkers Facebook page. Thank you!
City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Isaac took the oath of office for her fourth, four-year term representing the 2nd council district.
City Court Judge Alexandra R. Bisesi, who was appointed by Mayor Mike Spano last year, will begin her first year on the Yonkers bench after taking the oath of office on Jan. 1.
At the Council re-organizational meeting on Jan. 2, City Councilman Mike Breen, now the sole republican on the council, was re-elected Minority Leader. “I am deeply honored and grateful to my colleagues on the City Council for placing their trust in me by re-electing me to serve as Yonkers City Council Minority Leader. This responsibility is one I do not take lightly and I am committed to representing our caucus with integrity and dedication. I want to extend my sincere congratulations to Majority Leader John Rubbo on his re-election as Majority Leader as well as offer a warm welcome to my friend, Councilman Tim Hodges, as he joins the City Council. As we begin this new term, I am optimistic that through open dialogue and a shared commitment to our constituents we can find common ground and deliver real results for the people we serve. I look forward to the work ahead.”
