The Hudson River Community Association of Northwest Yonkers celebrated 41 years of community service at its annual Community Service Awards Dinners-Dance on May 10 at Riverview.
Friends and supporters gathered and were welcomed by Karen Schullere, mistress of ceremonies, and by HRCA President Barbara Smith, who spoke about the importance of having “watchers” in the community to make sure the proper balance between development and maintaining green space and a healthy Hudson River is met.
For 2019, HRCA honored the following worthy Yonkers community members and organizations: Captain Emil Cavorti, First Deputy Chief Tim Hodges, Cynthia Miller, PCNYinthestreets and The Yonkers Bike Club.
