Spring came early in the banquet room at the Fairways at Dunwoodie as the guests celebrated Yonkers women at the Chamber of Commerce’s 27th annual Women of Excellence Luncheon on March 20, and expressed delight at the pastel-colored table dressings and cupcakes.

This year’s honorees were Loretta Spano, who earned the Entrepreneur Award; Susan Corbett, who earned the Business Professional Award; Samantha Rosado-Ciriello, who earned the Above and Beyond Award; and Bettye Malone, who earned the Thomas J. Caramadre Humanitarian Award.

Spano works at Castle Royale, Rosado-Ciriello is president of the Yonkers Federation of Teachers, Corbett works for Hog Hill Management, and Malone works for the Family Service Society Kinship Support Program.

Also recognized were three outstanding senior high school young ladies from Yonkers who will be receiving $1,000 scholarships in memory of a dear friend of the Chamber, Virginia Eyler.

The three scholarship recipients were: Kimberly Gerard of Saunders Trade & Technical High School, Melissa Hall of Yonkers Middle High School and Angelina Bell of Sacred Heart High School. These students have achieved academic excellence and display an active role in community service.
