Yonkers fi refi ghters gather to honor their friend and colleague Patrick Joyce with a street renaming in his honor.

Ten years after Yonkers firefighter Patrick Joyce gave his life in the line of duty, his brothers in the Yonkers Fire Department and family members came together to pay tribute by renaming the street corner of New School Street and Palisade Avenue “Patrick Joyce Jr. Way.”

Joyce died battling a fire at 149 Waverly St., while trying to find people trapped in the building. He is remembered as a person who believed in helping others outside of the firehouse, and as an amazing father and husband.
