Yonkers Police investigate possible fentanyl exposure to Detention Officer in Police Headquarters

On Jan. 12, at 3:52 PM, a Yonkers Police Detention Officer working inside the Central Booking facility at Police Headquarters – 104 South Broadway – experienced a medical emergency when she came into contact with an article of prisoner clothing; it is presumed that she was exposed to an unknown substance, possibly fentanyl.

First Responders administered three doses of naloxone (Narcan) to revive the Officer; she was transported to a local area trauma center in stable condition for evaluation. The Central Booking facility has been placed on lock-down pending clearance by hazmat teams, and internal investigations have been initiated. The Detention Officer is a 10-year veteran of the Department.
