Sunday marked the 8th Annual Beethoven Festival: Beethoven from Classicism to Romanticism, with guest conductor Andre Rivas, born in Caracas in 1990, who began his musical education at the age of 3 in Venezuela. Rivas is the third candidate for the position of Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra conductor. The final candidate, Steven Huang, will conduct the 44th annual Young Artists Concerto Competition concert on May 7, 2023. All concerts are open to the public and are free.
Concertmaster violin soloist Urara Mogi performed as soloist in Beethoven’s Violin Romance #1, playing a 1735 Nicolo Gagliano violin on loan from the family of Anne Frascello, a YPO violist.

Joint performances by Music Of India singers and orchestra, Hudson Chorale, Westchester Chorale, and the Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra, will present the MOI musical performance celebrating the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 4 pm, at the Pepsico Theater at SUNY College, Purchase NY, a World Premiere of Beethoven Ode to Joy in Hindi, Ravi Shankar inspired Orchestra music and Bollywood Freedom Songs.
