Yonkers’ own Santina Madden wowed the American Idol judges with her audition, singing Die With A Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars!

Santina made a memorable first impression on American Idol season 23 judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie by walking into her audition with a realistic pillow of her dog, Duchess, and a violin. Luke tried to steal the instrument from Santina during her performance because she was holding it instead of using it, but he found that it was attached to her body and walked away in defeat. Santina showed off her violinist skills at the end of her audition, leaving the judges even more impressed.
Santina Madden ’22 has been awarded a Golden Ticket to Hollywood on American Idol! Her extraordinary vocal and violin performance captivated the judges, securing her a coveted spot in the next round.
Santina impressed with a stunning rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Always Remember Us This Way” from A Star is Born. She attended The Ursuline School.
Currently, Santina is studying Music Education at University of Miami.
