Yonkers Mayor Spano Announces Free at Home COVID-19 Tests to Residents Today, Dec. 27, 2pm, at 1000 Saw Mill River Road

On Dec. 27, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano announced the City is distributing a limited supply of at-home rapid COVID-19 tests to residents, made available by New York State. Starting today at 2PM while supplies last, residents can pick up an at-home test kit (two tests per kit) at Yonkers Office of Emergency Management (OEM), located at 1000 Saw Mill River Road. Kits are limited to one per household and proof of Yonkers residency is required.

“The rise of COVID-19 cases over the last few weeks has affected all of us, especially as we gather for the holiday season,” said Mayor Spano. “We are appreciative to Governor Hochul for making these home testing kits available to our residents so we can continue to take the necessary precautions to help curb the spread of this highly contagious variant.”

Distribution is available by walk-up and by a dedicated drive-thru traffic lane at 1000 Saw Mill River Road.

As of December 23rd, Yonkers recorded over 2,500 active COVID-19 cases, marking the most confirmed cases since February 2021.
