The Yonkers High School Lady Bulldogs, coached by Rob Scaringella and assistant Mat Longo, captured the 2019 Yonkers City Softball Tournament by defeating Yonkers Montessori Academy in a classic 13-12.
The Lady Bulldogs raced out to a 5-0 lead before YMA rallied to take an 8-6 lead after 5. In the top of the 6th, Yonkers H.S. went ahead 10-8, and added three insurance runs in the 7th to take a 13-8 lead. YMA staged a furious rally and had the tying run on third with two outs, but Yonkers held on to claim the title.
The tournament MVP was Sabrina Iacovetta.
