Tips from the Yonkers Police Deparment-How to Avoide Package Theft

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday orders being delivered throughout the week, take a few simple steps to protect your packages from theft:

Monitor tracking notifications

Choose secure drop-off locations, or ship to your workplace (if allowed!)

Request signatures, or use locker/center pick-ups

When possible, schedule deliveries for when someone is home or have a trusted neighbor accept them.

Have packages delivered in view of a home camera- front door, garage, etc. They can help deter theft, plus also confirm if an item got delivered or not.

See something suspicious? Someone took your package?
Call our non-emergency number at (914) 377-7900.

We’ll be on the lookout for porch pirates and package thieves throughout this holiday season!
