Last Saturday was a beautiful day, in fact a perfect day for football at Roosevelt HS Field. Coach Anthony Fava’s Yonkers Force won their third game of the season and though it was the last game of the year the Force are starting to put it all together for future games next year.

When the final whistle was blown the Force won 28-14 over a quality opponent Ramapo HS. The stars of the game were Atticus Oelkers, Brandon Sweat, Ryan Joseph and Quadir Holmes; who were the heart and soul of the team all year long!

In the game QB Atticus Oelkers threw 2 TD passes to Brandon Sweat. Brandon had over 100 yards receiving for the third time this season! Atticus also scored on a rushing TD too!

Ryan Joseph had over 100 yards rushing for first time this season. He had 34 yard run for a TD in the 4th Quarter sealing the victory.

Quadir Holmes anchored a strong performance on both the offensive and defensive line of scrimmage!

The Yonkers Rising would like to congratulate both the Yonkers Force and the Yonkers Brave for playing their hearts out for their schools and representing Yonkers so well when they were the visiting teams on the road.

We will be announcing the Yonkers Rising Player of the Year Award from each team in a few weeks. Please look for it!
