Bring Your Pets to the Parade & Fashion Contest Show and Join the Spooky Fun at the Halloween Bar Crawl!
The Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District is excited to announce two festive Halloween events for 2025 that promise fun for all ages: the Halloween Pet Parade & Fashion Contest on Saturday, October 25th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 71 Water Grant Street, and the Yonkers Downtown Halloween Bar Crawl on Tuesday, October 28th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
“Yonkers is a community that loves to celebrate, and Halloween is the perfect time to come together for fun and creativity,” said Sara Brody, Executive Director of the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront BID. “From adorable pets showing off their costumes to adults enjoying a spirited bar crawl, these events highlight the energy and vibrancy of our downtown. We can’t wait to see everyone in costume and hope visitors will stick around to enjoy lunch at one of our fantastic waterfront restaurants afterward.”
The Halloween Pet Parade & Fashion Contest invites pet owners to bring their furry friends to strut around the downtown and waterfront area and compete in a lively fashion contest. A new addition this year is DJ Joey, who will keep the energy high with music at the waterfront. The fashion competition offers an even bigger incentive for participants, with prize money increased to $100 per winner in each category, thanks to a generous donation from Extell Development. This year’s categories are Most Creative, Scariest, and Cutest. Prizes will be awarded based on the decision of a panel of judges, including City Council Member Deana R. Norman, Bobbi Vasile, Hospital Director at the Animal Specialty Center, Lauren Hopkins of TD Bank, and Elenore Lennon of Cordial Psychiatry. Special thanks to Elenore Lennon of Cordial Psychiatry for providing goodie bags for the furry parents, and to the Animal Specialty Center and Lauren Hopkins for their generous donations of pet gift bags.
All pets are welcome to join the parade, enjoy the music, and pose for the free 360 photo booth picture. Only registered pets, however, will receive free gift bags and be eligible to compete in the costume contest for prizes. Registration is now full, but the fun isn’t! Everyone is invited to attend the event, walk in the parade with their pets, and join in the Halloween excitement along the waterfront.
For those driving their pet to the event, parking is available at several nearby locations, including Buena Vista Parking Garage at 20 Buena Vista Avenue, Warburton Parking Garage at 45 Warburton Avenue, Getty Square Parking Lot #11 at 23 John Street, Hudson Lot #16 at 2 Hudson Street, as well as street and metered parking throughout downtown.
The Halloween excitement continues on Tuesday, October 28th, with the Yonkers Downtown Halloween Bar Crawl from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Costumed participants can enjoy a spirited “adult trick-or-treating” experience at Downtown Yonkers’ top restaurants’ bars. Full details, including participating locations and special offers, will be announced soon, giving everyone a chance to plan their perfect night out.
