At the 138th annual meeting of the Yonkers Board of Education, trustees re-elected the Rev. Steve Lopez and Judith Ramos Meier to serve as president and vice-president for the 2019-20 school year. Both will serve one-year terms in their leadership posts.
Mayor Mike Spano re-appointed Lopez and Ramos Meir to their second five-year terms as trustees in May 2018.
Lopez was appointed in 2013. During his tenure on the board, he served as vice president in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2016, he was first elected president and re-elected to the leadership position each consecutive year – in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Judith Ramos Meier was appointed in 2013, and reappointed to a five-year term by Spano in 2017. She was elected vice president in 2016 and re-elected to the leadership position each consecutive year – in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
