Westchester Police Departments Make Arrests in Commercial Robberies

Bedford, Mount Pleasant and Westchester County Police Departments Arrest Two for Five Gas Station Robberies: More Arrests Coming

Police departments across Westchester County are making arrests in a rash of recent gas station robberies. On Saturday, December 23, 2023, following a several months long investigation, the Bedford Police Department Detective Bureau effected the arrests of two Bronx residents wanted in connection with at least five gas station burglaries committed within the Town of Bedford between September and November 2023.

The Bedford Police Detective Bureau, in conjunction with the Mount Pleasant Police Department and the Westchester County Police Department, established a working task force comprised of personnel from a multitude of support agencies within Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties with a goal of arresting, charging and prosecuting those responsible for a large number of commercial burglaries completed throughout the aforementioned counties and beyond.

In the early morning hours of December 23, 2023, following a vehicle and foot pursuit, four male subjects were apprehended by the Task Force in Dutchess County, shortly after completing a gas station burglary in the Town of Fishkill, where they were subsequently charged. Detectives from Bedford Police, Mount Pleasant Police and assisting agencies conducted hours of interviews and investigation, ultimately resulting in the arrests of two of the males on local Bedford charges. Arrested were Berto Dominguez and Michael Cruz, each charged a total of 20 counts, to include Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Conspiracy 5th Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd and 3rd Degrees, and Petit Larceny.

Both suspects were arraigned in Bedford Town Court where they were released on their own recognizance and turned over to the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Putnam County Sheriff’s Department for additional charges.

The Bedford Police Department extends our sincere gratitude to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, Harrison Police Department, Town of Fishkill Police Department, Westchester County Police Department, New York State Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Westchester County District Attorney’s office and all other agencies involved in the investigation and apprehension of these subjects.
