Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins has endorsed Lakisha Collins-Bellamy for reelection as Yonkers City Council President. Jenkins, a life long Yonkers resident, said,
“Everyone needs to get out and vote for our City Council President Lakisha-Collins Bellamy. We know why we need to do this. She has helped navigate the business of the city council.
She has the experience and as County Executive I know that it makes a great difference when you have all parts of government working together with Mayor Mike Spano, and Majority Leader John Rubbo.
Lakisha has the skills sets and the will to do it. I’m proud to be standing here with her and we want Yonkers to continue to move forward,” said Jenkins.
Collins-Bellamy said, “Thank you for standing with me and being partners in this fight. The last 4 years have not been easy and we all worked together to make sure we are moving Yonkers forward.
“Now is not the time to go back. Stability matters-Yonkers. I spent the last 4 years working hard for this city.
“I promised to build more affordable housing for the city. And spend more money on education.
” And we promised to keep crime down in this city, and with all of us working together we have done just that
“Promises made are promises delivered, and I will continue to fight for the residents of Yonkers. Now is not the time for infighting
