Ray Albanese was honored Dec. 7 for his 50 years of service as an Eastchester, Tuckahoe and Bronxville volunteer firefighter. On behalf of the Eastchester Fire Department, Fire Commissioner Anthony Lore presented former Fire Commissioner Albanese with an honorary chief’s badge and a new white chief’s hat.

Albanese is a member of the North End Hose Co.

The celebration of took place at the annual holiday party of the Eastchester Volunteer Officers and Firefighters Association at Westchester Manor in Hastings. Albanese received his chief’s badge and hat in the presence of his family, his wife Patsy, son Andrew and daughter-in-law Susan, daughter Alaina, and his grandchildren Adriana, Andrew Jr. and Alexa.

Previously, the Eastchester Fire Department recognized Albanese’s late father, Andy, and his late uncle, John, for their 50 years of service as volunteer firefighters.

Albanese, as fire commissioner, then had the privilege of presenting his father and uncle with their honorary chief badges and hats. Combined, the members of the Albanese family past and present have a total of more than 150 years as volunteer members of the Eastchester Fire Department.
